International Youth Day is observed every year on 12 August to spotlight youth issues and celebrate the vital role young people play in shaping our global society.

This day offers a platform to amplify youth voices, recognize their actions and initiatives, and promote their meaningful, inclusive, and equitable participation in all aspects of life. The United Nations General Assembly established International Youth Day on 17 December 1999, following a recommendation from the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth.
