Dear AFF Member,
We are pleased to share the publication of a new Special Issue titled: Forest-based employment research: Taking stock and looking ahead. Published in Forest Policy and Economics.
This Special Issue was guest-edited by Doris Mutta, Programme Manager at African Forest Forum (AFF), and brings together contributions examining the current state of knowledge on forest-based employment across research, policy, and practice.
The issue takes stock of existing evidence on forests as a source of decent work and livelihoods, identifies critical research gaps, and sets out priorities for future work to strengthen the evidence base linking forests, employment, and inclusive economic development.
Given its relevance to AFF's thematic priorities, particularly livelihoods, sustainable forest management, and forest-based economic development, we encourage members to engage with the findings and consider their implications for research, policy dialogue, and programmatic work.
