Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) offers teaching, research and service in Agriculture and Natural Resources. The University’s vision of becoming a vibrant research-intensive institution, is set to make BUAN
an employer of choice both in the region and internationally. The University is in process of creating a Centre for Sustainable Resources and a Centre for the Bioeconomy, which will provide initiatives to develop research, innovation and
entrepreneurship in these two strategic areas.

Botswana is a high middle-income, dynamic, resource-based economy, with exceptional natural resources and a wide diversity of environments. The transition to a knowledge-based economy is key to the country’s future development, and
the management of its resources and biodiversity is also a key long-term challenge. BUAN is developing capacity in order to address these opportunities for the future.
