West Chilcotin Forest Products Ltd is accepting applications for a Registered Professional Forester or Registered Forest Technician to manage ongoing operations. This position is located in Anahim Lake on the beautiful Chilcotin Plateau. If you enjoy living in a remote community and working with First Nations this would be a perfect job for you.
The position would include but not be limited to:
Developing and managing the Fire Recovery Program
Working with multiple stake holders to complete the Forest Stewardship Plan
Managing all aspects of Band Owned Forest Licenses
Working with the Silviculture Contractor to ensure compliance of the licenses
Working with the logging contractors to ensure that the annual targeted volume is delivered
Working with the Ulkatcho Resource Officer to ensure that referrals are being completed prior to forestry activities and are being clearly communicated to the community
Working with Ulkatcho Resource Officer and stakeholders to develop and implement a deactivation plan that will meet the needs of the Community and Ministries
Coordinate and manage the Post-Harvest License obligations
You must have the following skills and attributes
Be competent with all the Microsoft Platforms
An excellent communicator
Must have a valid drivers license and own your own vehicle
Be able to work on you own with little daily supervision
Great writing skills would be an asset
You must be a RPF or RFT and must have a desire to work with the Ulkatcho First Nation Community to develop Forestry and Human Resources capacity. This is an exciting opportunity to be working in both the planning and operational side of a Forestry Company.
