10 May, Bonn: Fiu Mataese Elisara from Samoa, former Chairperson of the Global Forest Coalition (GFC), has stepped down from his duties as board member today. Fiu served on the board since 2010 and was GFCs chairperson from 2010 until 2012. He will be replaced by Ms. Aydah Vahia Akao of the Network of Indigenous Peoples in the Solomon Islands. Vahia Akao was nominated by member organizations of GFC in the Pacific region and was formally appointed to the board
