The UN General Assembly will elect its president for the 73rd session (UNGA 73) on 5 June.
The Group of Latin American and Caribbean States (GRULAC) has put forward two candidates: Mary Elizabeth Flores Flake, Permanent Representative of Honduras, and Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces, Ecuador’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility.
Interactive informal dialogues with the candidates are being convened for the first time, by the President of the 72nd UNGA, Miroslav Lajcak.
