Calling all young scientists and professionals from Africa and the Near East!

Are you passionate about forest health and eager to share your research with a global audience? FAO, the Near East Forest Invasive Species Network (NENFHIS) & the Forest Invasive Species Network for Africa (FISNA) invite you to take part in the Youth Action in Forest Health Competition—an opportunity to showcase your work, connect with experts, and contribute to the future of forest sustainability.

Can you deliver a compelling research pitch in just five minutes?

Be clear, engaging, and impactful as you present how your research is addressing critical forest health challenges. This is your chance to gain recognition, receive valuable feedback, and inspire change in the field.

What can you present?
Any research related to forest health—whether it’s about invasive species, disease management, climate resilience, or conservation strategies. Show us your passion and innovation!

Competition Format

🔹 Selection: Participants will be chosen based on the originality and impact of their research.
🔹 Presentation: Finalists will have 5 minutes to present their research in English using PowerPoint.
🔹 Judging: A panel of experts and junior scientists will evaluate presentations and provide feedback. The audience will also vote for their favorite!

The winner will receive an official certificate from the FAO Forestry Director.

The competition will take place May 8, 2025, more details to come!
