Expera is seeking Paper Mill General Laborers to fill entry level positions as relief (vacation or other) for more senior employees. The Paper Mill General Laborer may be trained in one or several areas of mill including paper machines, pulp mill, boiler room, yard, wastewater treatment plant, paper testing lab, and/or chemical lab.
Requirements
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
High school diploma or GED
Production or manufacturing experience preferred
Good mechanical aptitude
Previous military or farm experience a plus
Paper Mill General Laborer Responsibilities
Must follow Experas manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the positions areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights; the paper mill is a 24/7 manufacturing operation
Assist equipment operators as required
General cleanup around paper machines and other moving equipment
Perform heavy work, defined as lifting 100 lb. maximum with help, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs
Work around fast-moving machinery
Work at heights
Drive a lift-truck type vehicle
Work in a hot and humid environment
