Gums and Resins are important but mostly not well utilized as many people especially the local communities are ignorant of the same. We should aim at creating awareness and capacity building of locally led small groups on the gums and Resins importance and how it’s extracted so as the benefits are realized. It will aid in poverty alleviation and alternative livelihoods options to ease pressure on forests.

I do agree with the mapping out of the different stakeholders involved in the NTPF sector. We have different organizations in Africa and beyond that are already in the sector. After mapping out we can Annalise their capacity and AFF can take facilitate some Forums like this for the different stakeholders to discuss and get the way forward.
